It’s an excellent game reminiscent of traditional obstacle-based platformers where players must progress through the game’s levels without getting stuck. And even though she can’t fly, she’s got some cool super flying combat styles, feathers, apple slices, and leaves for weapons, and a bunch of secret levels to explore. In-game, players take on the role of a flightless duck who must reclaim the eggs that she’s lost to an evil monster. Additionally, it incorporates fluid movements, a pretty cool soundtrack, and a story littered with humor. At the top of our ranking is Duck and the Land of Flightless Birds, a two-dimensional action-adventure platformer featuring charming artistic styles and unique gameplay. Winding up with a contender for Lost in Random ’s light-hearted story technique seemed perfectly fitting. So stick with it, and who knows, fighting dragons and forming powerful allies may just be your next big thing. However, you’ll catch up quickly to feel more versed with the rich and broad history of the Dragon Age franchise. At first, it may seem like a boatload of characters, places, and events are being thrown at you. In-game, you’ll play as the leader of a movement aiming to restore world peace. On the downside, the storyline is shallow however, the combat system does well to give vague plots a pass. Throughout the game, you’ll explore a vast, beautiful world with lots of activities to get into. It’s a perfect transition for gamers looking for quantity worth your time. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a perfect example of a 90-hours game that doesn’t grow stale. It’s another to spend days, weeks, or months on the same game without getting bored. This adds cool replayability, where even if you choose to play as the protagonist, the ending differs as you progress to the final chapter. Additionally, you can choose to play the villain in the last chapter and pick up from where you left off fighting said villain in previous chapters. Most players find Live a Live genuinely unconventional. Paying attention is key, as you’ve got to move around the grid to set characters up for attack or avoid your enemy’s attack range. Also, the game features different characters, from a ninja, to a caveman, to a robot each character in the game depicts a well-thought-out design.Ī similar feature across the chapters is the combat system which takes place on a small grid. So, each one feels wholly new and carries its unique design. The game offers a load of variety that is an oddly satisfying rollercoaster in picking what to go with.įirstly, the game has nine stories designed by a bunch of different manga artists. This resonates even more after each successful clear of and will look great when Hades is on PS5.Alternatively, you could always check out Live a Live. Each new area has a location where players can look out over that section of the underworld and gaze upon its beauty. It does provide some amazing visuals throughout the game though. The art style isn’t as gritty as Lost in Random but not quite as cute as Dicey Dungeons. There is a need to reunite with a loved one, there is some awesome combat, and there is incredible replay value to keep players engaged with different weapons, challenges, and perks. It bears some similarities to what fans know of Lost in Random’s story so far. Telling the story of the Greek God Hades’ son, Zagreus, as he tries to escape the underworld. Hades is a roguelike similar to Dicey Dungeons but will not be quite as reminiscent of the combat that players will see in Lost in Random. Like many roguelikes, there is plenty of replay value in Dicey Dungeons and the cute animation provides something a little brighter before jumping into the Tim Burton style world of Lost in Random. With dice rolls and deck building, there are a ton of different ways for each adventure to go. The game is a couple of years old now but any gamers that might be looking to get a solid feel for Lost in Random’s combat will probably enjoy it. The former feels like it could have even been pulled from the world of Random and was given a life of its own. Dicey Dungeons and Hades are great places to start.
